Daily Inspiration Features #VakseenArt

The funny thing about press is sometimes you receive it without the other party even letting you know. As I was randomly checking online yesterday, I stumbled onto Daily Inspiration and realized they featured my art earlier this month. The Netherlands-based blog featured 12 of my paintings (Felinity, Brilliant Dope, Ribbon In Her Eyes, Open Virtue, Gaudy Me, Madam Renaissance, Tainted Lusts, Crock Tearz, Lecherous Tastes, She’s Gotta Have It, […]

Bombay Sapphire Selects Vakseen for Artisan Series Regional Finals

Last week I opened an email congratulating me for being selected as an LA semifinalist (along with my Crock Tearz painting) in Bombay Sapphire’s Artisan Series. A few months back they featured me and my Eyes Wide painting, but this was completely unexpected. The major alcohol brand has partnered with Russell Simmons’ RUSH Philanthropic Arts Foundation and will be sending the finals winner to South Beach during December’s Art Basel. The winner […]

What started as a brief feature quickly turned into a month long solo exhibition, with an opening reception during LA’s infamous DTLA Artwalk. You can check out […]

I recently hosted one of my monthly BMI Nashville Songwriter Workshops, where each of the 50 attendees had an opportunity to pitch one song to a successful publisher. Typically, at these workshops, with few exceptions, every song played was perfectly crafted. The writers have mastered the use of current song structures; the lyrics made sense and were well written; rhymes were where my ear expected them to be; and the […]

The Youth Features #VakseenArt

Much love to The Youth for blessing me with my second feature on their blog! Over the weekend the team featured my newest painting Brilliant Dope and you can check out the feature here.

Thurzday Features #VakseenArt as "Designer EP" Cover Art

Los Angeles-based Hip Hop artist and a good friend, Thurzday, was one of the first few artists I connected with when I moved to LA. When he recently reached out to me about using my paintings as the cover art for his upcoming Designer EP, I was more than willing; in fact honored. Thurz personally selected my Open Virtue painting as the cover and Eyes Wide for the back/tracklisting. Talk about […]
