My very first gallery show in Phoenix opens this Friday and I’m thrilled to be featured a #VakseenArt piece (Po$h Regrets) in Cut + Paste PHX’s “La Dada” show! Below is the blurb for the background and you can RSVP here. I’ll be attending FYI!
LA Rooted in the namesake DADA movement of the early 20th century, LA DADA embraces the nonsense, irrationality, and chaos of our complex present. Megaphone PHX presents the work of nearly 40 artists working in diverse media in the first ever ladada. The open-call exhibition will feature 24 Arizona artists and works from Spain, the Netherlands, Brazil, Norway, California, Minnesota, Texas, Oregon, Georgia, and New York. Rooted in collage, but featuring sculpture, assemblage, video, painting, and mixed media, LADADA is hosted by Cut + Paste PHX and opens September 15 at 7pm at Megaphone PHX with an atmospheric set by Lana Del Rabies, performance by Jasmine Nunn, Julie Akerly, Allyson Yoder, and Danielle Feinberg, and participatory installations. More info to come about the closing reception.
